Honey Butter
Bees Make it Best!



Honey Butter does not have to be hard. The first recipe on this page is the simplest and probably the best. Not to sweet and yummy on anything.


Perfect Blend of Honey & Butter

1/2 Cup Salted Sweet Cream Butter

1/4 Cup Honey

Mix until smooth. Store covered in the fridge.


Almond Honey Butter

  • 2 sticks or 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel

Makes 1.5 cups

Beat butter and sugar until smooth. Gradually add almond extract and honey. Stir in orange peel. Chill until ready to serve.

Bavarian Honey & Butter

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Makes 1.5 cups

Cream butter with honey. Slowly add whipping cream, beating constantly until mixture is fluffy. Add vanilla. Keep refrigerated. Makes about 2 cups (16 2-tablespoon servings).

Many of these recipes can be adapted and changed to suit the food you are preparing for the honey and butter. Don't hesitate to use your imagination.

Try adding 1 tsp ground cinnamon; lime juice; lemon juice; some orange zest or cream.

The benefits of honey and cinnamon combined are believed to extend as far as curing arthritis, diabetes and preventing hair loss among others.

Spiced Honey & Butter

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 8 lime wedges
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

In a small bowl stir together the butter, honey and chili powder.

Serve on Grilled Corn


Honey Dip

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, at room temperature (optional)

Orange Honey Butter

  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest

Apple Butter and Honey

This is the most delicious on nice warm honey wheat bread straight out of the oven!

  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 2 pounds apples - peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice


  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, boil the cider 15 minutes.
  2. Stir apples into the cider and reduce heat. Cover and simmer, stirring frequently. Cook 1 hour, or until the apples are tender.
  3. Remove apples from heat. Mash with a potato masher. Stir in the honey, cinnamon, cloves and allspice. Return to low heat and cook uncovered, stirring often, until thick. Transfer to sterile jars and chill in the refrigerator until serving
